Why does Good Sam always want private messages? This is not the first time I've seen this approach from Good Same. The OP was courteous in his complaint. I'd like to see Good Sam handle situations in an open manner. The Good Sam approach does nothing to build any confidence with me!
I do NOT think a customer service complaint response should be handled on a public forum.
First of all GS is going to ask for personal information regarding membership ID, etc. to look into the situation. A public forum is NOT the place to be exchanging personal info.
THIS link is also posted as a CONTACT on many web sites for correspondence regarding service.
I can see their reason for it. Cuts down on phone calls and needing customer service employees to answer the calls.
What I don't see is 'why' they have this link connected to an open public forum. This link should just go directly to their customer service dept.
