DROPPING a policy that I can't use?

So it seems I have been driving around with an ERS plan that I can't use because I have a Class A Motorized RV. Apparently I need the Good Sam Platinum Plus plan. Since I've been paying in to a plan I can't use I was hoping for at least some kind of discount to upgrade from my useless regular plan that's paid through 2020.

But I was told by a service rep that I'd have to pony up the whole $180 and consider the money I've paid in already for the useless plan a waste.

I hope someone at Good Sam is interested in keeping a customer. If not, Coach-Net seems pretty interested in keeping customers as does FMCA.

Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't.

My point is, why did you bother to respond as you did? What are you getting out of it? How do your comments help ?

Because while it would be nice if companies automatically corrected OUR mistakes, sometimes you need to take responsibilty. If you failed to read what the ERS covered then that was your mistake.

Go ahead and ask for consideration, but don't threaten to leave because they don't when it was fully your fault.
  • No problem. I meant every word of it. You can't please everyone, but you've pleased me and many others.
  • MDKMDK,

  • I got caught during the transition from where the old regular policy covered motorized RVs, and the requirement for the new Platinum level policy. I renewed for 3 years the year before they changed the rules, and they have honored my coverage until next year at the old rate when my 3 years expires. I think they've done good by me, and I will continue to use them until some other ERS company can give me the same level of service at the same price. I doubt I'll be changing companies any time soon. :)

I get your frustration, but I'm not sure any company would reimburse you because you failed to verify it was the service you needed before purchasing it.
