ERS auto renewal question for Marcus/designee

I was set up for auto renewal until July 26th when a rep I talked to took it off for some reason.

Anyway....

I could have sworn that I received a mailer a couple of years ago that indicated that if I set up auto renewal my rates would not go up. Did I just dream that? The rep I talked to on the phone didn't know anything about that.

Can you please clarify?

  • I did receive a call from Frank regarding the auto renewal locking in the yearly rate.

While he did admit there was something a couple of years ago, he couldn't verify I had signed up at that time.

So...Frank offered me three free months on RSA and I agreed.

Maybe I missed something, but where exactly did you answer the question?

I see from another thread that you are likely answering these questions privately with the person asking them. It may save you guys some time if you answer generic questions like this on the public forum so others can see the answer.

I can tell you I recently signed up for the service and I selected the auto renewal feature. The disclaimer clearly said they would send an email before the renewal and I could opt out at any time, but if you didn't opt out that the membership would renew at the current rate at that time. No where did it say it would not increase with the auto renewal.

While there is a cost in procuring new customers, there is no cost in retaining old customers. Why, then, would an organization build in a cost factor to retain an old customer, when that cost could and should be shifted to obtaining new customers and growing a business
