Expiration calls and mail

I am writing about all the mail and phone calls we get weekly, saying our membership in either Good Sam or GS Roadside assistance, are expiring or expired. We are good through Mar. 2014. How is someone suppose to pay any attention to your mailings and calls, when everytime it seems they are wrong.
Then theres all these membership cards,,, why? We have two different color roadside assist cards, dont even have a GS membership card anymore because got thrown away not realizing the roadside cards are the same, just different colors. Sure seems like a big waste of money and time, sending all this irrelevent mail and calls to people that are not at or near expiration. Love Good Sam, but the mail and phone calls have to stop.

  • I think they need to work on their mailing lists. I think it's become a mess and no organization to it. I think that they may be operating on different ones than one that is kept up to date. They don't know that they are sending info to people who are already customers. I had subscribed to trailer life a couple years ago and was receiving. Went to an affinity rv show and they give you a free 6 month subscription. So I was receiving two copies of the same magazine. I think they don't do the mailings themselves but through a third party company. And that company is just working on the lists they are given.

    As others said, you can opt out. But you may get out back on a list if you do something different or new and you give them your address or email again. I've received things with my first name and my tamiddle name. I go by my middle name but sometimes if they ask for first name I will actually put my first name down. I don't think there is any cross referencing to the actual home address.
  • We cannot imagine how much money is being spent by this company for junk mail that is just thrown away. The money could be spent in many more useful ways for the membership. The company isn't getting more customers because of the constant mailings and phone calls. They're actually turning off its already members.

  • I don't get them (phone calls) either...even before we went to Life membership. We do get mail every now and then, but we simply toss it along with all the other junk mail that comes in.
  • I have never received a call from GoodSam and the only e-mails I get are the ones I subscribe to. Maybe because I opted for automatic renewal several years ago.
  • All the calls and mails just make me mad and irritated.

  • There must be a way to do that on the web site as I haven't heard from GS with a pitch for anything in some time. Until I read this I thought maybe they had changed the entire system, I was beginning to feel neglected :(

  • Oh I sooo agree. This week alone we have gotten 1 phone call and 4 mailings.
