Don't underestimate the power consumers have against behemoth companies, thanks to Small Claims Court.
Every time I had a dispute with an unyielding large company, the mention of letting a Small Claims Court judge resolve the dispute is enough to bring about a quick and favorable resolution.
Large companies are not going to spend a sizable amount of money to defend a claim for a few hundred bucks, it doesn't make economic sense. And in states like California, attorneys are not allowed in Small Claims Court.
