First time I had to use it and all went well!

Question

I was driving my regular pickup on I70 west bound and the truck just died! coasted on to a exit ramp and after doing some roadside testing determined that the fuel pump had gone south. Used my GSRA app on my phone and they sent a flatbed out in short order. Normal procedure would be to tow me to the closest repair center but since I'm a mechanic I ask if they could just take me and the dead truck back home. Was told yes but would have to pay the mileage above the tow to the service center. So $50 bucks later and I'm back at my shop. First time I had to use it but all went really well, Thanks GSRA!!

Our Place....good post about a positive experience.I am curious....did you ask for a flat bed?  Do you have a 4wd with Allison ?

Do you have a 4wd with Allison ?I was not driving my truck that I haul the camper with, I was in my everyday truck. It is a 4x4 but just a standard truck with a 5.3 auto. They did send a flatbed but I did not request it that's just what showed up. From the time the truck died to the time I got back home with it was about 1.5 hours and I wasted 30 minuets of that time trying to fix it beside the road (fuses and relays unhooked wires)but it was dead with a failed fuel pump.
