We liked Bayou Segnette State Park for visiting New Orleans. You can drive to the Algiers Ferry which takes you to the French Quarter. Be sure to go west to I-310 and take US90 to the state park and exit back that way. We hated going from I-10 to US90. Natchez is 3 hours north of New Orleans. If you want to visit Natchez, we like River View RV Park in Vidalia LA right on the MS River. Be sure to visit the WWII Museum in New Orleans. Drive to Avery Island to the Tabasco Factory and take the short tour and check out their gift shop. In Texas Balmorhea State Park is beautiful. Fort Davis is near there and worth the drive.
