my rant for the day. why the hell did flying j and pilot quit putting receipts at the pumps. more corporate greed i guess. they must be saving thousands of dollars by doing this. it makes me not want to stop there anymore. it isn't worth the discount to have to go inside and stand in line to wait for a receipt.

If I had to guess, it would be the same reason Walmart puts the milk at the back of the store instead of right at the registers. It makes you walk past merchandise you might decide to pick up. Impulse buys are money in their pockets. Add to that the risk of an employee walking to the pumps to replace the paper receipt roll. One workman's comp claim for somebody getting hit while out there reduces profits and increases insurance rates for the business.Not justifying it either way. Just guessing why they would do it.

Try the print receipt kiosk...no waiting in line...a little stretch walk...and you can sniff the Cinabon...don't give in though. :)

Where exactly did you run into this ?I haven't yet.Given who the new owner IS and his theories about profits versus customer service......it wouldn't surprise me though.AND...if it is a new corporate wide policy, it certainly will chase me away.And I don't even GET receipts.

When I don't get a receipt rather than rant I take out my cell phone and snap a pic of the pump screen.

LOL, your own post says they are supplying them, you just have to go inside to get it. In fact, they will give you two, if you're so inclined.

I would still like to hear some verification that this is actually a change in policy......and not just one pump or two running out of paper.

I don't think anybody has provided that yet......and the original poster might be making an erroneous assumption.

Think about this.
Paper receipts are on the way out nobody will have them unless you ask or there are certain circumstances.

Corporate greed over printing a reciept? LMAO I use the truck lanes as I pump diesel. I swipe my RV Plus card, pump my fuel, and get my reciepts from the kiosk, which are usually near the entrance. No problems and I don't even get an opportunity to rant and rave.
