Maybe it's just me but I have found that now-a-days, people generally are reluctant to ask for help in such situtations - why is that?
I remember many times knocking on peoples doors asking for help (pre-cell phone area); I once ran out of gas and saw a house with the garaage door open - I popped my head in and asked if he had any gas - sure did and would not take a penny.
2 years ago I had a slow flat on my motorcycle, I saw someone with a classic car on the drive-way; I stopped ask if he had an air compressor - sure did.
Same thing happened about 5 years ago on another motorcycle trip.
I can probably think of 10 other situations like this. But now-a-days I find if people need help they usually stay in their cars and phone somebody.
I had a cyclist have a flat right outside my house. I saw him on the phone, then I went out and asked if he needed help - I have a patch kit and fixed his tire.
I might just be getting old. What's happened?
