Sorry about your accident. But one thing jumps out at me. And it may be why it's taking so long. If I understand what you wrote correctly your Fifth Wheel came detached from its mounts on the truck bed (?) and your trailer slammed into your truck?
This is a serious design flaw in the Fifth Wheel. It may be that your insurance company is looking to hang the cost of this repair on them. This is something that should never happen even in a very severe accident.
This is one consideration about 5th wheels that most dont think about. If your trailer is going to go over on you (roll) it will more than likely take your truck with it. Whereas a hitch type trailer will more than likely detach itself when it rolls.
