Getting "R" from roadside assistance

I walked out one morning on my recent trip to Tennessee and one of my new tires was flat. Since one of the valve stem extensions was not used because of a leak, I had a feeling that my flat was a result of another faulty one, but wasn't sure. It was cold, and I was sick, so I just called Roadside assistance. They were going to send someone out who could replace the valve stem if necessary, but I would have to pay for the labor if that was indeed the problem. I agreed. About 20 minutes later, a young man showed up and said he was there to fix the "tar". Seems in Tennessee, they have this new gas they put in the tire called "R". He was "gonna put some "R" in the "tar", but couldn't fix the valve stem cause the other guy did that part and he was busy and he didn't have anything to check a leak with. Besides, he couldn't "jack er up and take the tar off". ANYHOW, he put "R" in the "tar" and left. Next morning the tire was flat again. I took the extension off, borrowed a compressor, and fixed it myself. Go figure!:S

Nope, just a nice Tennessee mountain kid - but I do think that R'n up my tar was pushing the limits of his abilities. It turned something frustrating into something pretty funny. I did buy a small R compressor for the trip home just in case.
