Well, I am repair incompetent. For us, roadside assistance has worked well. We had a $2200 flatbed tow from near Hyder Alaska to Prince Rupert in 2009. Class A was not drive-able........... That one tow will pay for many years of a roadside assistance plan. We use Coachnet and have been happy the three times we have needed help over a dozen year.
Good and bad reports on service regardless of whom you use as it is local guys they contract with and often is from the same pool of locals. Check to see who gives the most support - some offer phone tech support 24x7 to assist and will make a service appointment for you in event of an issue. All program are not equal. For us Coachnet works, for others, they swear by Good Sam.
As noted above, AAA has different coverage in various regions of the country and local rules apply so you may NOT have RV assistance when needed.
May none of us ever need roadside help!!! I cheerfully pay for something I hope to NEVER use. Happy trails.
