I know when we purchased our first RV we were infatuated with Camping World. An entire store devoted to all things RV, we were new to the RV lifestyle and loved going to CW to shop RV products. I do remember that back then there was a price difference online for GS members, had to input member# to reflect discount pricing.
We tried to keep using CW whether in their stores, service departments, or online. We do appreciate this free forum and was hoping to use them for most of our RV needs. Suffice to say, after the infatuation wore off and a few years have past, our trials and tribulations with CW has left a somewhat sour taste in our mouths.
It wasn't always this way at CW, maybe the last 5 years or so. It used to be where nearly every time we past our area CW we would stop and shop being that it is roughly a 40 minute drive otherwise. Unfortunately, it's been years since we last went in although our travels have taken us past their store hundreds of times.
I'm still hoping that the future holds promise for our business relationship with CW. There are a few things they might think about incorporating such as Walmart's ship to store and maybe something similar to Amazon Prime where members enjoy free, expedited shipping. I have never left a WM without buying other items when picking up a ship to store purchase.
Whether I'm shopping RV products or pretty much anything else, first stop is my desk where I google prices. Obviously Amazon and Ebay readily pop up with mostly lower prices, occasionally other smaller entities win the bidding. I don't exercise loyalty when trying to stretch my dollar as far as it can go. Just googled Rhino Hose and Walmart beats both CW and Amazon.
I sincerely hope your experiences with Camping World are of a positive nature. I've had some good and some bad keeping in mind that no retailer is perfect each and every time. CW pricing is higher than their competitors, but occasionally they are the cheapest. Alas, go to the store it's not in stock, and online their ridiculous shipping shuts that avenue down.
