Good Sam ESP--A rip off

Dear Marcus,
This came up recently when I was talking about trading my RV. Several years ago, when I still had the ESP, I made two claims. The first was on my electric steps, the adjuster tried to bully the rv repair man into saying it was corrosion and not covered. It took, 2 phone calls by him and one by me to get a $250.00claim solved.
The next was when my cabover seal leaked and delaminated my cabover section She said I did it to myself and denied the claim. I then cancelled all my additional GS polices. Now, the salesman I was talking to said if I had it inspected they should not have denied the claim because how are you supposed to know when it will start to leak. I have a 2005 unit and had the roof checked twice before the claim. Of course, I can't prove that now, it's been too long. But, it got me to thinking. If I blew a tire and hit a tree, would I have done that to myself? And not been covered? If I backed into a tree and ripped my roof. Would that have been covered? I would like you to reconsider my case and pay for my repairs. Richard Ranieri member# 56337850

  • News flash!!!

ESP's make money by denying claims, not by approving them.

Why people spend their money on such things is beyond me.

    Whatever floats your boat.

    Enjoy your travels.
  • Did you have seal and gasket coverage? Again, I've said it many times. I have never had a legit covered claim denied in 10 years with GSESP. Make sure you read the contract. Don't assume and think your cover. Roof might be different. Know your contract. Blown tire and Hitting trees and backing accident is your vehicle insurance. They might cover trip interruption. Good luck

Both of these instances would be taken care of by your auto insurance...not your ESP.

I had GS ESP on my last coach and they took good care of me in my time of trouble. I had one of those notorious Monaco RR4R chassis that had defective trailing arms. They paid the total bill to replace both of mine.
  • You probably won't get it resolved from the rapid response team as I have been waiting since June on a problem that I thought they would take care of.
  • These tow items are common maintance items for a MH. I would not have paid them either
  • I received a phone call from 'Justin" about my problem. The extended service plan only covers MECHANICAL things. So, I was wrong about the de-lam. The only coverage for that is on my Vehicle coverage if I'd had an accident. So, I was wrong and shame on me for not reading ALL the fine print. On their RV insurance, however, one accident in 5-6 years for only a few grand and they doubled my insurance premium! I can only recommend GS membership and their Roadside Asst. program.
  • The only good service I've ever had is/was with roadside assistance, it's good. The rest is worthless.
  • Yes, they will get out of paying any way they can. We went around and around with them. The piston (I think that was it) failed, but they said something we did caused it to fail. The engine never overheated. They said it was a cracked head so we had the people check that and it was proved it wasn't a cracked head so ESP said we needed to have the engine tore down to prove what it was - then there was no guarantee it would be paid for. The protection plan was a waste of money!
