- lj2654ExplorerI had a service plan for three years with GS. I paid $200 a year for a DP. Total of $6000.....refused a frig repair, bad cooling unit(said cooling tubes had rust on them) $1800 out of pocket to fix. They covered about $800 of expense in repairs in three years.I could have saved the money and been ahead!But some like the security of having it in case of a major engine issue.

My issue is all he fine print and exemptions for what they will pay for or not pay for. I.e.
refrigerator door hinges broke. They would not pay the $200 it cost to get it fixed, if the refrigerator totally guit working then G.S. extended warranty would pay. etc etc. Hindsight, save up $3K, put it in the bank and then you are covered. You could ask your RV dealer or service center what it would cost to replace, refrig, h20 heater, air conditioner and then save up accordingly.
