Good Sam Extended Service Plan Cancellation Refund

Good afternoon.
We purchased our Class C Motorhome (2018 Forest River Forester 2251S LE) from Camping World in Columbia, SC on 08/31/2021. At the time we agreed to and purchased the Extended Service Plan - see Service Agreement number 83522961 (total cost $7,882.00). On our return trip home with our motorhome purchase - unfortunately the spare tire came off our rig - luckily an accident did not occur. We advised the Sales Associate, Sales Manager and Finance Manager of the incident. My wife and I have been extremely upset over the incident. The people we dealt with at Columbia Camping World did not offer any assistance to rectify the spare tire loss. On Friday - 09/03/2021 we returned to Columbia Camping World and requested cancellation of the Extended Service Plan. The Finance Manager had us sign documents and stated we would receive copies via email. We have never received any copies. I called the Service Agreement Administrator as noted on the front page of the agreement (1-866-769-8097) and was advised the Service Agreement had been cancelled by Columbia Camping World and any refund would come from them. I have attempted to contact Columbia Camping World to inquire about the status of our refund, but have not received any response. Are you able to provide us with any assistance in this matter?   • I too want to cancel my extended warranty I bought 2 weeks ago. Customer service can you assist me with this?
  • This Friday - 11/12/2021 will be the 10th week since we cancelled our Extended Service Plan through our Dealer - Camping World of Columbia, SC. We still have not received our refund or any other communication regarding this cancellation. Numerous calls to the dealer have become worthless because we are put on hold - then transferred to voice mail and then no return call. Is there anyone of The Good Sam Care Team that can provide assistance so that we can bring this matter to a close?

  • I suggest you call them and simply ask: when was my refund check mailed out?

    Don't delve into your dissatisfaction, the incident, etc.

    My first take on this is that in this post, you took a very long way to get to your actual request: where's my refund?

    While you provided many facts, it isn't real clear what you want. People, even for their jobs, tend not to read very deeply. Instead, they will just scan over communications looking for the "I want this" or "you need to do that" statements. Put that at the beginning.

    Note that refunds like this can take anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks. It's possible you will receive your check this week.
  • 1 Not a fan of extended warranties or service plans,but I see where some would have the possible need.
    2 The plan would not have covered the tire/wheel loss, the dealer should have taken care of this immediately. But it does give you good cause to cancel your plan without a penalty,it shows the dealer is not trustworthy.
    3 Hire a lawyer. Sooner the better.
