I live in New York City. I had a non start condition where my RV was parked by my house and the engine would not start due to a relay and needed a tow to the service station. This was in 2014. I had Forever to wait for a tow because I was not going anywhere but just tried to start my engine as I always do periodically when the RV is parked for long periods.
I called good Sam on this service call and not progressive since I could wait for a week for road side assist to show up. I wanted good Sam to pay for the tow to the repair shop since they had never paid for one claim since I had them ( progressive completed all my service calls in the past because GS was so slow)
Now remember, I live in NYC. There are literally hundreds of commercial tow companies within a 50 mile radius because there is so much commercial truck traffic here in NYC. So I do not want anyone to defend GS and tell me that possibly no provider was available.
Yet it took 4 1/2 hours for a tow truck to arrive and tow me to the repair shop. I did not care and was not angry since the RV was just parked by my house and I did not care if they could not show up for a day or two but I just imagined how angry I would be IF I was on the road.
The point being that with all the tow providers in NYC, it still took 4 1/2 hours.
The service provider arrived with a commercial heavy duty tow truck that could easily tow a 40 foot diesel or a tractor trailer ( so the tow vehicle was real heavy duty) and he was professional, and I saw that GS paid over $200 to tow company but 4 1/2 hours ? Really ??
Thank goodness I was not on the road or this post would have a lot of edited curse words in it.
