good sam roadside assistance warning

New to rving and signed up with good sam membership and roadside took our first big trip 3600 miles , on the last day of our trip had a minor break down just 30 miles south of Vegas called good sam roadside at 9.30 am , was told there was no one available to tow us back to Vegas,  after sitting in the desert all day and being lied to all day I found a tow service in 15 minsat 8pm. The driver told us he was available and on call all day. I was towed into Vegas and repaired the coach thanks to the good guys at camping world Vegas. I had to front the money for the tow and wait 3 months for reimbursement, very poor service very poor customer relations and most of all lying to customers, if you are looking for a roadside assistance service look anywhere other than good sams

No offense, but if you were told at 9:30 in the morning that there was no one to tow you all day, then why would you wait almost 11 hours to call someone else? I think I would be on the phone in about 30 seconds, calling someone.

In defense of GS. They have a list of contractors that will tow for them and are willing to wait to be paid by GS. AND if they are out on other tows you and anyone else would have to wait their turn until they could get there.

Yes you found a towing company but they were not contracted by GS so you found out when you had to pay them upfront.

They can't have a contracted tow company in each and every square mile of the US. Some tow truck companies want to be paid on the spot and won't sign up for a road side assistance company.

GS paid you back so the problem is?

The problem is is that Good Sam promised him roadside assistance, Good Sam took his money, Good Sam did not provide that assistance

Why are you such an ardent cheerleader in every post mentioning the failure of GS to uphold their end of a contract?

Yellow Pages for Las Vegas lists 545 tow operators. Were they all busy or does Good Sam not have enough vendor.

Well the way I read it is,,,,,Good Sam Road Service Provides towing Service,,Says that right on the web sight!! If I need a tow and have GSRA,,,,,,,,,should I call them and expect NOT to get a tow?? I don't care it GSRA has to hire a kid and fly them to the JERR DAN factory and buy a tow truck!! I am paying for towing services,,,,Maybe GSRA needs to send me a coverage map!! And it better be up to date!!!
I don't just walk in and buy cell phone service because I like the pictures on there ads,,,,I look at the Coverage chart!! IF you don't have a chart,,, I expect Service NOT some song and dance.... NOT going to re up with them!! This is ridiculous!!
