Good Sam Roadside Assistance

On May 29, 2015, we contacted GS to assist us with retracting our slide-out. We were rving in Lake Minden, Nicolaus, CA. After speaking to 4 GS (agents) contacts, Interstar Fleet Services dispatched a vehicle to retract our slide-out. We were quoted a charge of $150.00 for the service. The mechanic literally stared at our rv for over half an hour, another 30 minutes spent "tinkering" then 15 minutes later the technician, a fellow camper and both of us were able to push the slide in. We wanted to pay him soonest, but the technician return to his vehicle and stayed on his mobile for another 30 minutes. When we knocked on his window and asked what he was doing, he advised he was talking to his headquarters. He finally left after spending almost 2 hours "running out the clock". One hour later, his headquarters located in Kentucky, stated we owed over $300.00. When we inquired why, they stated, well GS paid $180 of the invoice. Upon arriving at our residence, I promptly wrote GS a letter, forwarding our receipts and telling them how frustrating it was to deal with so many agents for this one service call. To our surprise, GS reimbursed us one half of the charges. Kudos to GS.
