Most cable/telco offer better rates for NEW customers, in my case it was half
my current cable/internet bill. When I called, they said this offer was only available for new customers. I asked if they would extend this offer to current LOYAL, long term customers. They said no. 2 minutes later I switched to another cable/telco company for their "new customer" offer.
Since then, cable company #1, has been sending me offers for 5 years now to get me back as a customer. They have probably spent more money on marketing trying to get me back than they would have spent if they gave me the original offer.
I'm not in marketing but this has NEVER made sense to me. I know that it costs much more to get new customers than to keep current ones.
Maybe some one out there who is wiser than me can explain.......
