Great idea from RV Tips

There is a post on Facebook RV Tips... Which I think is a good idea, which sure could use the help from the contact Good Sam has with the Good Sam Campgrounds... Here is the original post...

"Okay Campground owners and Host here is thought about an issue that has been brought up earlier today. I know I would like to see something like this when I check in......

When you check in - if you can give this kind of information in a park newspaper form (it either needs to be on the front page top area or on the last page bottom area to be found quickly and easily by all).

Or either printed on HEAVY Card stock on a bright color paper.

It needs the following (in my opinion);
campground name,
Physical address
Phone numbers - both office and after hour emergency contact
Contact for EMS Services --- including the non-emergency contact info -- Police, Fire, Ambulance Dist if separate from fire....
Hospital
Urgent care
County -- the campground is in....
Weather alert radio channel (info)
GPS info
and any other major E-info that might be needed for the area you are in...

Also -- I forgot to say a 24 hour Vet Clinic in the area.... (see we can not take our big baby with us....) so you forget this one....

I hope this make sense --- to many campgrounds just depend on you to figure this out and I can and I do but I just wish they would put a step forward in doing this as well.....

  • Great ideas.

    Another one for those in Tornado Alley, Hurricane country, etc: What is the CG's Evacuation plan? Reinforced washrooms, clubhouse, off-site shelters, etc.?
  • Most RV parks give out a site map that includes nearby advertising, things to do, etc. On it, look for all of the above information. We've seen it as requested.

    Thank you! This would be very helpful to fellow campers when the check in... I know many times when I have been in a campground, and a sever storm blows in, and while listening to the weather station, I don't have a clue what county I am in... A complied list would be very helpful... I am sure there is a lot of additional information which others will think of which again would be helpful...

    Again, Thank you for forwarding this on to the appropriate department within Good Sam Club... I hope they get behind this!

  • It would be extremely helpful for the campground to provide that info. If you call 911 in the middle of the night, can you tell the operator where you are?
