I wish I could tell the community all is good with the Good Sam insurance claim but I can not!
I can understand the long delay in getting in for repairs due the magnitude of damage claims that there are from the July 28 Hail Storm in Colorado Springs, but I cannot understand or appreciate the additional delay the insurance company is creating.
The repair shop, the Good Sam insurance company sent us to said on Friday that National General had contacted him saying they would rewrite our estimate,that was first way too low.
The repair shop owner said he just wants to be sure they can do the job in the proper way. He is a very honest good guy with an A+ rating with the BBB.
On Monday the repair shop owner said he has not heard back from National General. Seriously that is unacceptable.
Today Tuesday we called our Insurance representative at 11am to ask where we are with our claim? We need to get it in and repaired B4 the winter snow weather here in Colorado Spring sets in, and we have no appointment date set yet.
The delay our insurance company is creating is just not fair treatment for any customer but for us in snow country and full timers it is really disturbing, and is not the image Good Sam has for the Rv community.
The hold up is National General wanted to cut cost and use a product, RV Armor instead of full normal replacement of our TPO roof their adjuster, they sent out said needed to be replaced OEM.
The RV Armor we were told by a Supervisor at National General on Friday to please checkout, does seem to be a great product and I have had communications with someone from RV Armor but they require their own trained certified technicians to do the work. This is something our repair shop rejects. It is a 2-3 day process and they will not turn their shop over to someone else to do the work.
So here we sit and no response today from National General, nothing from the repair shop, nothing from Good Sam except each time I post something they say they will look into it.
National General should be able to fairly process a legitimate claim much fast than this and be in touch with us without us having to call them to find out what is going on.
