I never like to use credit cards for anything. I feel they are for emergencies only. Not a big fan of on electronic bill pay methods either. Target, hackers, and identity theft keep coming to mind. Seems like every one else that sends me a bill gives me plenty of time to send in a payment. Why can't National General figure this one out.
Do you have to wait for a bill to send a check? If the payment is the same every month, just put it on a calender and send the check in time for it to arrive on time?
Another idea is to have your bank, through their bill payment service send the funds on whatever date you choose,
Paying by check is foreign to me. In 7 years on the road, I haven't written 5 checks. All my payments are done electronically. No problems so far, knock on wood.
P.S. Maybe National General has figured it out. It probably costs a lot more to process a check than an electronic payment of some type. They may be trying to discourage check writing.
