Insurance companies are required to give a certain number of days notice on anything due with a certain number of days before cancellation will occur. This will vary by state. How are you getting your mail? Are you only being notified late because your mail is being forwarded? How many days since the insurance companies mail was postmarked to you? Something isn't right, either we aren't getting all information or they are not following their state laws for mailing out their billings.
My mail goes to a p.o. box 6 blocks away from my house, which is checked almost daily. My mail is not being forwarded, but if it were I'd really have a problem. I don't remember the post mark date. NGI's response to me was that they mail my bill on the 20th and that they won't change that. I don't know if they prosses their own mail or contract it out.
