And google doesn't? Ever notice on the internet that when you go to certain sites, they already have your locale on there? They track all that stuff.
Facebook is no worse in my opinion and you get out of it what you want. I will say that you miss some great things. There are numerous facebook Rv groups. Most every manufacturer has a facebook page and posts information there. Also, many businesses give away things via Facebook. You aren't giving away your first born with an account. You use it to the way you wnat to. If you don't want people knowing your business, then you don't update your status and keep your profile private.
