I just love the Good Sam Logo, call me an old soul

I just have to say it, I really "dig" the Good Sam Logo, I always did. I had joined a couple times in the early 80's even before camping.

I wish I was camping in the 60's and 70's (my family never did this or vacations when I was growing up), I think it had to be the best times when life was much simpler and everyone seemed friendlier because they weren't in a rush to get to nowhere fast like today.

I was born 15-20 years too late I guess. I just always like the little Sam face and Halo. I always believed Good Sam was born to make camping a positive experience to help us slow down and take in everything around us in a positive light.

Sound Korny or Kampy? Who am I, I watch reruns of Donna Reed Show. I hope Good Sam never gets too far away from what I always thought it was.

    The Good Sam Logo, just plain makes me feel good, even if there is a knuckle head camping next to us!.

    Obviously, if there are knukle-heads camping next to us, they are NOT Good Sam members!

    Good Sam Logo doesn't elicit too much thought for me but talk about old tv shows...Donna Reed was a cutie, and how about her daughter (Shelley Fabres?). Then the other day I was watching an old Hazel episode- What do you guys think about the woman who played Mr. B's wife? Holy cow! I liked Patty Duke as well-to bad about how she ended up. Sorry- I don't mean to be off topic but it just made me think back.

    I remember way back in the day, early 70's, that the Good Sam sticker on the trailer was family camping,good times,new friendships,ect. Also it sort of implied that you left the site cleaner then when you got there and checked out before (9am?). Times sure have changed. Some changes can be blamed on the campgrounds,prices have gone sky high,spots have been cut in half,no campfires,ect. Guess it's just the times we live in now.

    They must think changing the logo will attract younger and more diverse groups of members? I'm a believer that the logo won't appeal to more people if modernized. I believe it's about service, content, marketing, and keeping up with what the original intent of the club?


    Good Sam may one day die a slow death, but I really doubt a logo makeover will change that. Keep the politics out of it and keep your finger on the pulse of the camping community.

    Ann, editor of the now Good Sam travel guide, used to be Trailer Life, proposed several different 'looks' for Sam to us.

    I wouldn't change the logo, but I'm not a fan of Camping World anymore.

    The logo has changed several times over the years since Art Rouse founded the club.
