insurance has gone

My insurance expired two days ago and I have not received a renewal notice or anything else from good sam insurance. I just thought tonight that we have had our camper a year now, and the light dawned. insurance ran out two days ago. called the 888 number but they were closed for the evening. Is this common?? Will try to get ahold of them tomorrow, before our creditor finds out I hope!

  • Seems most insurance groups are charging 6.00 on renewals. Never understood this concept. Bookkeeping fees? It will go up every time you renew in a lot of cases by that amount. Oh well, I am not alone in this I guess.
  • Gotta Update!

Got ahold of a very pleasant gentleman this morning on the phone. Explained that I hadn't received any renewal notices and my insurance had ended three days ago

Apparently when I signed up for the insurance a year ago over the phone I was opted for paperless billing (wasn't aware of this) and they had an incorrect email on file. He rescinded the cancellation, and didn't charge a reinstating fee since there was a mixup.

So I am back in the land of the insured and everything is peachy again. They now have my correct email address so hopefully this won't reoccur in the future. The best part is the premium did increase from last year, but only by 6 bucks.
  • Just hope you don't have a clam during your lapse in coverage. Perhaps they have an incorrect address for you?
  • If your insurance was expiring you would have gotten multiple notices by now. If you provided a credit card and agreed to have it deducted automatically, you may have only gotten one notice a month or so ago. If that's the case, check your bank account to see if it was deducted recently.
