Kudos to GoodSam ERS

Had to use roadside assistance two days ago for a dead battery on my Ford Edge. Everything went perfectly. Phone representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. After hanging up, I received a text message immediately with the name and phone number of the service company which was being dispatched. I was given an arrival time of approximately one hour, but the service truck arrived in less than 45 minutes. After the service was provided, I received a follow-up phone call to verify that the service was completed. I know we always read here about the negative experiences, but I am willing to bet there are way more satisfied customers that we never hear about because people never seem to offer praise when something is done well, but only complain when something goes wrong. This is not the first time I have used the service. All of my previous experiences, including two times having my 40' motorhome towed have also been very positive.

  • You are right, people are far more willing to complain than compliment. I am sure there are many instances where Good Sam ERS has performed well. However, the complaints posted here do not seem to be a minor gripe, but a significant failure that when brought to the attention of people who could have easily resolved it, are actually made worse. That is my concern with Camping World/Good Sam- the problems are horrendous and tortuous for the people involved. When it is good, it is good, when it is bad, it is very very bad.

    I could have written this post, with minor editing! I had the exact same experience with a dead battery; mine was a Mazda 6. I also had two tows; a 31 foot motor home and a pickup and camper. I read a lot of negative press on GSRA, but I wouldn't leave home without it.

    Another case of someone wanting others to take care of them. Glad you were able to save a few dollars. Seems to make you very happy. :B

    WOW Kool RognBon great to hear some good for a change... U kno ...I just realized my GSRA expired a month ago. Didn't even get a renewal notice or nuttin telling me I was goin to be doin without. Shuckie darn...Oh well .... just saved me a hundred 29 bucks.
