Looking To Good Sam Cust Serv To Help On Extended Serv Plan
I have a Class A 2013 Winnebago Journey, Model 36M. I purchased it new from the factory through Camping World at the Louisville National Rally in 2012; it now has 27,200 miles on it. I need assistance from Good Sam who offered my Extended Service Protection Plan(Good Thru Sept of 2019). I have a River Park Inc. Infotainment System installed by Winnebago when the RV was built and am having it repaired/replaced as it suddenly would no longer turn on and boot up. I am working with La Mesa RV in Sanford, FL, an authorized Winnebago Dealer. They also have dealt with this Good Sam ESP many many times. They have, however, met with some resistance on getting my Infotainment Center back to full operation. Turns out someone at Assurant has told them they would only cover the actual unit. However, the replacement unit is a different unit that replaces the one I have and does the same stuff. Catch is the new unit takes a different card with software(about $350) and a different antenna (about $150). Assurant is saying even though I have the $100 deductible plan for services at other than a Camping World facility, that they will only cover the unit and not the software card and antenna that need to be part of the package so the Infotainment Center will work(main thing for me is it provides the safety feature, the display of the three cameras on the RV). I have never heard such baloney in my life. When you have an accident in a car and have body damage and also the engine is messed up........as an analogy; I have never heard of an insurance company saying we will cover the fender repair or replacement, but not the engine. You need the full package to be functional. I have as of this past Friday contacted Good Sam Customer Assistance to see if they can work this issue as it should be. I asked them as I have no appetite for arguing a point that should not even be an issue.
