Yes, unless you drive for one of the larger companies. The larger Companies have so many trucks on the road they have a contract along the most traveled routes, and when they call they usually get bumped to the top of the list. While RV's may not be harder, there are less calls, and less RV's on the road. GS, or CN cannot compete with CR England, Swift, Schneider, Yellow, or some of the others. My guess would be that during the off season GS or CN rarely has calls. The big question is, is it cost effective for GS or CN to sign contracts for service when there is little to no traffic in that area, let alone calls?
If you are an independent, or smaller company, they either use the MyDAT App, ask on the CB, or look someone up that can do the work. The other side of the coin is, how often do you get a flat that is Road Hazard related, versus overloaded or under inflated?
