Major Frustration UGHHH 5 + hours !!!
Well here it is, my story. Broke down on I - 10 10 miles outside of Blythe Ca. eastbound towards home, AZ. Called GS road side, told them about 3 times I had truck type size etc, with fifth wheel type size etc. mile post I was at, specifics and all. After operator checked, double checked and not sure how much else she checked, I was told that help would be to me within an hour and a half. Being that it was about 105* out already, 1:00 pm, I figured that was realistic as others were probably ahead of me and I was out of town, truck had to go down the freeway an extra few miles to come back to me. So the story goes. tow truck company declined the call as their "Big" truck was unavailable and I didn't know it until an hour later. Good Sam said they would work on it. So I thought I would help and get on the computer and make a few calls and see what I could do. Long story short, one company could get to me in about 2 hours but only could tow one vehicle, the other company could get to me and could tow the fifth wheel. So we wait. 4:00 pm, one through my GMC Warranty came and got the truck, took it to the dealer in Blythe. We waited with the fifth wheel along the freeway until just after 6 pm for the other truck to pick us up. Thank goodness for the generator and a/c even though the coach only got down to about 90* as temps reached 113*. They took us by the dealer to get some stuff from the truck, then to hidden beaches rv park. so now I am 10 miles away form my truck, no work until Monday and it is what it is. At least I have food, shelter and some shade with partial hook ups.
Frustrating to have a towing / road side service that can't do all in one shot. now I have to submit receipts for the additional tow and hopefully get reimbursement. I am done whining, thanks for listening!
