There are a couple of shows named Star Trek: The next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine...In these shows, there is a race of people called the Ferengi.
Taken from a google search:
"The Ferengi are greedy, avaricious, ruthless, cowardly and completely unscrupulous. For centuries the famous Ferengi "Rules of Acquisition" have been the guiding principles of the galaxy's most successful entrepreneurs."
There are 285 Rules of Acquisition...with #1 being:
"Once you have their money, never give it back."
This is what you are going up against in business today...Not all mind you, there are some out there who still believe that The Customer is the one who helps pay the employee's salary...drive off your customers, you drive off your paycheck.
But there are many businesses out there that feel that The Customer is just an inconvenience that must be overcome in the pursuit of Profit.
Wells Fargo - "Hey, if we can't get new customers in, lets just start up accounts in the name of our old customers...They will never find out!"
United - "Yes, we know that you paid for your seat on this plane, but getting our crew back to a location is a lot more important than YOU getting to your destination...So get off the plane or we will throw you off"
Those are two recent examples...
"Blind Faith in your leaders, or in anything, will get you killed" - Bruce Springsteen
"Blind faith in a company's business practices can cost you your money" - Me
