My $35.00 loss at Camping World... I've never run into this.

To all,
We have been camping since 1978, but, this is a new one....Went to Camping World to get some tire covers for our new 5th wheeler, I had just received in the mail a $10.00 coupon from Camping World and we had a $25.00 gift certificate from Good Sam for signing up for another 2 yrs. Wasn't sure which size we needed so I went to parts and told the guy what the size of my tire was, he told me what I need to know....Got home the the tire covers where to small, not long enough, whey were covers for tandem axles.
Went back to Campers World to do a swap, the price for either size was the same, well, I was told I could only use coupons "once"..That was the first purchase, they could not be used on an exchange or refund. I asked the young lady to get the manager, he agreed with her, REALLY?? In fact he asked me what I thought Walmart would do if I bought a Coke and brought it back (?) I said, "Make the customer happy".That shut him down, CW is no Walmart...so here I stand, my only options are, to either take my $10.00 and change and buy the correct set, without the coupons OR take the $10.00 and change and go home, without the coupons. The $25.00 coupon was given to be for extending my membership with Good Sam for 2 yrs, how can Camping World keep it??
Right now I want to never go to a Camping World again and cancel my membership with Good Sam.... Remember this was a "swap" NO money changed hands...

  • That's stupid. You only used the coupon once - then you exchanged one item for another (no coupons needed). Sounds like the manager was looking to screw his customers.
  • Amazon tried that stunt. Guess who won that battle?

    The only thing such policies do is make former customers very angry.

    Keeping existing customers and happy is how you take over the world ;)
