I agree. I too initially thought Good Sam might be the right "experts" to insure my TT. Their ads are convincing in Trailer Life especially the one that says they are the only one that doesn't "charge" you when your TT is being stored during the winter months in the NE. That made sense, so when I got the quote I couldn't understand why it was DOUBLE my Geico RV policy quote. I called Geico and they laughed and said Good Sam's claim is just marketing hype. Geico already factors in that since I live in NJ, I won't be using it for 4-5 months. Geico's plicy covers EVERYTHING that Good Sam does including emergency road service and is half the price. Of course, it helps that my 2 vehicles, home, boat and umbrella policy are all with Geico too, so I am getting a good discount!
So what I know now is that most large National auto insurers have excellent RV policys as well, better and cheaper than Good Sam.. AND-- they do not ever allow a claim to sit for 6 months like these 2 examples in this forum! I had a claim on a tree limb that penetrated my slideout roof the first time I used my TT. Adjuster was on site at the dealer I took it to and approval of $2000 in 1 week! BEWARE OF GOOD SAM!
