New cards not received, CS not helpful

Hi, Our membership at Camping World in Liberty Lake, WA in February. Our membership was paid through 2015, but we renewed it to take advantage of some deal. We also signed up for the Good Sam road service.

I specifically asked if we would be issued new cards (ours are from 2007) to take advantage of the new fuel discounts and was told yes, should receive them in a couple weeks. Same with the road service cards and info.

When the cards didn't come in a reasonable timeframe I went back to CW and asked if they could find out why. "Nope, we don't do that. Call this 800 number."

I called the customer service line for card replacements to see why we never got ours. The girl didn't see a problem, said we are members, etc. She said "but you have cards, right?" Aargh. Took a while to get the idea across that we need NEW cards.

We finally got there and she assured me we'd have them within two weeks.

Times up. Still no cards. We are headed out in less than two weeks - we need our NEW cards and the phone CS people are no help at all.

Not getting the warm fuzzies here.

Anyone have a new angle I might try with better luck?

Thank you

  • Both times I've used GS road service I never needed a card. Just the 1-800 number I have in my phone. The operator will verify a valid membership and arrange assistance.

Also, I'm rarely asked to show my GS card at a campground. Most just ask if I'm a member. Kind of feel like the card is taking up space in my wallet.
  • You can go online and print out temporary GS membership cards. Don't know if you can do the same with Roadside Assistance. The process of getting new cards to members is more complex than printing a card and placing it in an envelope and usually takes more than 2 weeks. Nonetheless a second call to verify they have been processed would be worthwhile.
  • They normally say allow 3-4 weeks. I know there was an error in the data transmission of our information to the printer and thus we had a delay on the cards ourselves a couple years ago.. But they fixed it. They will for you too.
  • That happened to me too. My husband says I'm too impatient but my last issue I was treated very well and the young representative stayed on the phone until I decided I was satisfied. I suggest call again and ask the customer service clerk for name and operator I'D plus the city they are in right off the bat. I don't want it to scare them, sometimes clerks are trained so fast they don't fully understand their job. Sometimes it's the Teacher and not the student. I say just call again.
