New Forum Member/New Owner....Question on C2C

After a few years of camping with friends and renting TTs we decided to take the plunge and purchase our own. Coachman Catalina BH.

Excited to get out and use it this spring, summer and fall. Hoping to camp a dozen times or so for a couple nights each before winter hits again in Michigan.

Anyway, when we purchased the TT, the dealership gave us a book for "21 Free Nights" of camping. Did some reading and figured it was a timeshare type thing. It's for Coast to Coast. My wife was more excited about it than I was but we drove up recently and sat thru the pitch.

Cost went from $11k to $9k to $7k. Then for a 5 year "trial", $5k, which would go towards a lifetime membership if we upgraded at the end of 5 years.

Can I ask what people think of the membership? Haven't been able to find a bunch of recent reviews.

  • We are formerly from the Davison area and lived 6 miles away from Outdoor Adventures Lake Shore Resort. When we purchased out first TT we had the same offer for free camping and stayed there and we decided to buy a membership (at a lot less than what you were offered) because we lived so close by. We used ours all summer (2 weeks on, 1 off) for 4 years before we moved to TN. I still maintain the membership because it was so cost effective for us and we do still use it when we travel....the $10-$15 a night thing. That is the only situation where I would purchase a membership if I were you. ONLY if you can take full advantage of your membership and do so.

It took me quite a while to understand how to use our membership when we traveled too....the point system they use and finding parks in the C2C system...its easy actually. I have found the places we have visited to be very nice most of the time. Like everything else, quality can very quite a bit. Some we have been to I will not go back to....even tough they served their purpose.

Membership parks are not for everyone and can be perfect for other people. It all comes down to your personal camping style. You can always join later if you want, until then, learn what camping style fits you and the family.

yep don't do anything like that until you have a couple of years under your belt. they really know how to sell those things with their appeal.

  • You stated you were hoping to camp a dozen times for a couple of nights then C2C would not be a good deal. If you want to join tho find a resale site, you can buy memberships for couple hundred dollars.
