- Blanco1ExplorerTrust me I'm looking into this & like what I see offered to me & do plan to use what I can that I see offered. :D
- wbwoodExplorerBlanco1, it's been talked about in the "General RVing" area as well. The Good Sam Club membership will not do anything for you if you don't use it's many features.
- 10% off camping Good Sam Parks. If you don't camp at Good Sam affiliated RV Parks, then this feature is of no use to you.
- Discounts at Camping World. If you don't shop at Camping World, then this feature is no use to you. I will tell you that as a member, you have access to coupons that will even take more off the member prices you see. There are at least $600 worth of coupons avaialble. More depending on your membership level (Elite, etc). Also instant rebates and free shipping on some orders.
- Save on gas at Pilot/Flying J. If you don't buy gas from them or don't intend to, then this feature is no use of you.
- Good Sam Rx Saver. If you have a different prescription plan that is better, then this feature is no use to you.
- Four free issues of Motorhome or Trailer Life Magazine with Highways insert. If you don't like to read or don't like those magazines, then no use to you.
- Good Sam Auto. If you don't want to use them to buy or sell a vehicle, then no use to you.
- RV Travel Guide & Campground Directory for member price of $9.99. If you don't like it or won't use it, then don't buy it.
- Smile & Save Discounts. You can save at other places. If you don't use the vendors or get a better deal from elsewhere, then no use to you.
- Free RV Dump Station Privileges at CW Supercenters. If you don't need it or won't go near a CW, then no use to you.
- RV Trip Routing. Pretty neat feature. If you don't need it or don't want to use it, then no use to you.
- Free RV Buying Service. If you don't use it, no use to you.
- Free RV Referral Service. If you don't refer someone to CW to buy an RV, then you won't get the $100 CW merchandise certificate.
- CyberSam & Insider eCommunications. If you don't read it, then no use to you.
- Local Chapters. If not a social person or don't want to be part of a group of other members, then no use to you. If you are a member and get the Highways magazine, you will see that they do more than swap cookies as someone mentioned.
- Standby Sams. Volunteers that agree to assist other members. You can print out a list of them for areas you may be in or can access it online anytime if you have internet service. Phone numbers and email addresses are listed. If you don't want a fellow RV'er or member to assist you in any way, then no use to you.
- Other...there are some other features as well... Action Line Consumer Advocacy, RV Parking Rights Advisory Council, giveaways, recall alerts, rv show discounts, discounts on other GS products....
You kind of get the gist. If you aren't going to use any of the many things a membership gives you, then don't be a member. I use the discounts, shop at CW, used the coupons, have the Flying J RV Plus card, get motorhome magazine (subscription to it), have the travel guide, use the trip router, am a Standby Sam, have looked into the local chapter thing but havent become a member, enter into the monthly giveaway everyday (just started), and of course have other services through good sam (ESP, Roadside, insurance and travel assistance). But to me, the greatest part is that I feel like I am contributing to keep this forum up and going and free to everyone. Personally, I would like to see some features to the forum available only to Good Sam members.
But like anything, you make it what you want it. - jake2250ExplorerTonight,,, just used two envelopes of ADs!! to start my fire,, Best part of it all,, i can shred what they send and use it camping!!!!

Hope you have a really really big mail box and losts of space for junk e-mails, it will take you while to stop all the junk they are going to be sending you.
Strange being I've been a registered member since Aug & have not even realized I'm a registered member all this time being I've only received two small adverts from them in this time & I didn't mind them at all.
Some people don't realize that they can opt out of that mail. If they have been around the forum for more than a few months, they will have seen it talked about.
And I agree with beemer about the cynicism.
I've been a member on this site about 2 years & being I was never a any sort of club member, I never looked in this section of the site & my point is, I did not even notice anything about my Membership, so I suppose its not as bad as some of you say?
I've only thought about it now being I'm planning another trip. - wbwoodExplorer

- beemerphile1ExplorerThere is no connection between Camping World and Walmart.
The Good Sam Club is an RV organization. Good Sam Enterprises owns Camping World.
Sam's Club is a chain of stores that is owned by Walmart. - Blanco1Explorer

Did you join SAM'S CLUB, a division of Walmart, or did you join GOOD SAM, part of Camping World????????????????????????
Camping world I was shopping in one when they offered me the membership & To be honest I almost did not join being I've seen the GS club name on the Wal-Mart trailers & I refuse to shop at Wal-Mart..
What is the connection anyways?
With either Camping world or Wal-Mart?
Was I mixing them up? :S
I just read the title of the thread & somehow need to edit it. or have a Admin or Mod edit it for me please.
