Vacane, a major holiday weekend is probably the worst time to need road service. No matter which roadside assistance firm you go with, they all rely on local tow & service companies to respond. Since some of the roadside assistance companies are slow and low pay, they frequently get put at the end of the line when service providers are busy.
I carry both GS and Coach-Net policies, cheap insurance at $100 /yr. If one doesn't respond properly, I call the other. But sometimes both are waiting on Joe's Towing Service to respond, when Joe is already out on a call and has no other employees.
