If your money is in a bank, your account is (generally) no more or less secure if you elect to use on-line banking or not. The bank itself is a target. Customers using online access only marginally increases your chances of fraud.
HOWEVER.... And this is the part I do not understand... I guess the older generation that thinks like the person I am quoting - simply has not thought this through....
Speaking of "give open access".... When paying your bills the "traditional way" with a physical check.... You've placed your account number, routing number, name, address, phone number, ORIGINAL SIGNATURE, and perhaps a driver's license number... in an envelope (which looks suspiciously like a bill) and send it through the hands of untold individuals between point A and point B.
It amazes me the lack of thought this is given.
