I'm thinking of buying a used class c Sunseeker by Forrestriver 2008 year. Its real clean. I'm new to rving and wondered what current rv'ers think. Is it a good idea to purchase the platinum protection plan. Its suppose to cover the intereior and eexterior. It costs exterior.Any thought are welcome and helpful.Thank you

  • The CW/ Good Sam plan is one of the worst in the marketplace!
  • You would be much better off spending some of that extended warranty money on getting it professionally inspected by an independent inspector. The fact that it is "real clean" means nothing!
  • I agree with Grandpere. Protection plans are like any insurance coverage. They got the edge on you just like shooting dice at Vegas. If you do a through pre deliver inspection using one source for the RV systems and a good mechanic for the chassis, you should be ok. Don't rely on the dealer's "PDI." For the most part they are not adequate.
  • Take the money that plan is going to cost you and put it in the bank. It will do you more good there than it will in Good Sams pocket. All protection plans are a scam, meant to make money for those who sell them and not to benefit the purchaser.
