I should have been more specific in my AAA dealings; I believe they do a good job with standard vehicles, not-so-good with motorhomes.

In your case I can see why they answered as they did, the brochure states they'll tow you to a qualified and willing shop. If the shop they chose turns out not to be qualified then sure, they should tow you again as they didn't get you to a qualified shop.

As mentioned above, I really wonder what they'll be doing in the OPs case.
