Possibly changing to Good Sam Insurance

We currently have our RV (travel trailer) insured with our home and auto policy. After discovering that we had NO personal effects coverage, I have been shopping around for new coverage on the trailer. The quote that I have from Good Sam (Allied Insurance/Nationwide) is cheaper that what we are currently paying and the coverage is much better. Has anyone had experiences good or bad with Good Sam insurance?

  • I've also had GS (National General) for about five years. One of the things I really like about this insurance is that it has a "storage" policy. Meaning if you store your rv for over 30 days (I think) you can have the coverage reduced to only comprehensive.....saving a bunch off your policy. We store our mh from Nov thru Apr and since we travel in our mh and toad from May thru Oct, we store our other autos (3)...also saving a bunch. This really cuts down on our annual insurance costs.

  • I've had GS insurance since about 1990. Just small claims like wind shields etc. Always got good service. I'm happy. I switched from State Farm, after 40 years with no claim, then they botched a wind shield repair and raised my rates.
