I'll jump in here and say if you have a NEW unit you have a warranty for a year at least.. that will take care of any issues that arise, and there will be stuff, and it will not cost you to have the repairs done.
after that time give it 6 months to see how things are going. most of the time you will not need any more repairs with regular maintenance and checking on stuff.. If you just get in a go then stuff might pop up to bite you.
then if you think the money will be well spent do so..
I would take that 1500 buck and put in a easy to get to fund and use it when you need to. most stuff new will go for year with regular maintenance with no problems..
Most extended warranties are mainly a way for the deal to make more money of the sale.
