Refer claim

I had an RV service center put in a claim for my Norcold Refrigerator in 2011 for a bad cooling unit. They turned it down saying there was rust on the cooling unit itself. This cost me over $1800 then out of pocket. Since then I have had great warranty claims approved but several Mechanics have told me they never have had refer claims turned down....why?

  • none of the rust had eaten thru anything at all...just some surface rust from being exposed to the elements.
  • I remember reading somewhere that their extended service plan does not cover failures due to corrosion or rust.
    Under their exclusions:

    • Any damage or failure resulting from rust, pitting, corrosion or freezing.
  • Very od indeed. If there is rust then the cooling unit outer coating failed. Which sure it is not your fault. I would challenge that one and ask Norcold why the rust. Did you replace with another Nocold or ?
