Roadside Assistance
I could go on with this story for page after page but I'm going to condense it. You will get the point.
On August 3, 2016 we broke down on the Baker grade in southern California after hitting a large chunk of rubber tire thrown from a big rig. Initially we called for roadside assistance. After a 2 hour wait we received a call from a man 112 miles away who wanted $1000 up front to respond plus any additional parts. Thinking that was unreasonable we declined and called Roadside Assistance for a tow. They declined saying since we refused service they would not respond. We explained we declined to be extorted for $1000 but after speaking with a supervisor they absolutely refused to respond.
We waited 12 1/2 hours on the roadway for another to and was eventually taken to Freightliner in Las Vegas. We filed a letter of complaint with GoodSam roadside Assistance but never got so much as a reply.
