stranded

What am I doing wrong.? Two times I have had breakdowns on the road while camping and both times I had trouble getting assistance. The first time was a hot day in August while returning home from a family trip I had a blowout on our fifth wheel. After pulling to the shoulder my wife called for roadside assistance. The operator could not find our location even though she was given detailed info on our location. We were on Interstate 70 near Baltimore. After multiple calls and call backs, we were told no one was available to assist. We told the operator we would change the tire ourselves, which we did and went on our way. The second time, we were on our way home when a brake line on my pickup blew out. We called for assistance and were told no one could help us for two days. We were able to return to the campground and I made arrangements to be towed the next morning to a repair facility. I was not camping in the wilderness.. once was near Baltimore and the second time was the Eastern Shore of Virginia....very disappointed...

  • There is absolutely no excuse for the way GS left you stranded twice on the side of the highway. However, they will certainly come up with one.
They are very creative on making excuses for their many blunders.

I'm sorry you had problems. I hope you learned that you can not depend on GSRA to be there when you really need them.
  • I guess I'm just lucky. I've had GS ERS for 20 years, and I've had to use them three times. I've never had to wait more than an hour for help to arrive.
  • Soon someone from the rapid response team will ask to help you.
Personally I think they intercede just to stop the thread, so if they do contact you make sure you follow up with us.
The thread will probably be closed by the time you get your answer so you will have to start a new thread (I think this is part of their plan).

    Very happy with them.

Isn't it amazing. I almost believe Marcus Leonis is working for Coach net. He sure is giving Coach net a lot of business. Looks like he is trying to dump old time GS ERS members that have been loyal for years.
  • It's about the same for all places I think.... 2 years ago we were on the Baltimore Beltway and had a blowout... They could not find my location either...I was next to an exit sign , mile marker , and interstate sign telling me the highway and direction....
Btw-- it was not Good SAMs...it was Coach.net
