The best insurance company for RV roadside assistance

I had RV roadside assistance on my auto police with USAA. The first, and only time I needed it, I called, gave my location at an RV park on a major highway, and there was no response. They called a welding shop in a nearby state, hours away to help with the tire, but they failed to show up. I told the USAA person I talked to I was within a mile of a tire store that proved response services, but they ignored that. Worse, they paid the welding company they had called and counted that on my policy as a claim. After I complained to USAA, I cancelled roadside insurance with them.

I now have roadside assistance with Good Sam, but annual payment is nearly due and I may change companies.

What in your experience gives you confidence you will get insurance help when you need it?
  • Good Sam and Coach-Net seem to be the most popular roadside assistance programs.
You will have pros and cons with both. Sometimes it's a **** shoot (like calling a welding shop for a tire problem). Usually you get good service with either program.
