Towing repayment info

The other day we broke down on the I-5 freeway and the guy on the phone couldn't get us a tow truck. He advised us that we should call 911 and request that they call the WSP and get one of their providers which we did. He also said that we would have to pay for the tow and then would be reimbursed for it. His name was Robert or Roberto. We were able to get a truck from Carl's towing and he checked to see if we could get into the shop that we wanted to go to, but it was locked and the RV park that Good Sam suggested we park it at was too small to get the truck and MH in, so we had it towed across the freeway to a protected spot at the truck stop there.. On Monday, I drove back down to the truck stop and made arrangements to have it towed to Peterson CAT in Longview. Sooo
1. I need to know how I go about getting reimbursed for the first tow and
2.Can I get reimbursed for both of them as I couldn't get it towed to the shop and the only safe place to take it was at the truck stop.
The first tow was $291 and the second was $334.
On edit; Carl's said that they had not been called and are a provider and I was very happy with their service..

  • What's interesting about this is that there are several other road service providers that use the same dispatching. I used to use AAA and changed because of bad service and the fact that even though we had the second vehicle towing coverage, they wouldn't honor it
    . We have been with Good Sam for a very long time and this is the first time we have had this experience. I had an experience 6 or 7 years ago where I had to have some tech advice for my Excursion with an engine that wouldn't start and they were on the line with two different techs for almost an hour talking me thru the problem and we finally got it taken care of.

    Another thing was that when I used the app to call in, it dropped my call after about 20 seconds, but when I used the number on the back of the member card it worked ok.

    Thank you for your concern. You had us as customers. But the hours of delay on the 3 times we needed you can't be fixed afterwards and to continue to put our trust in your service is not logical.

  • And that kind of service is why we had to leave Good Sam's road service. 3 times we needed them and 3 times we had that same kind of service.

  • hope it works out, and you have all the info in black and white,. let us know how GS fix,s this, question wonder why you cold find a GS provider and GS could not.

  • When I had a problem and couldn't call Good Sam because all our info was locked in, they said I should submit my reasons to them for choosing another provider, and their system would look after it. I did, and they did too.
