Trip Planner continually locks up!

Question

I have a continuing problem. I get a message that the planner cannot compute distances/trip.
after planning a trip from Alaska to Florida with 18 stops and a remaining 2500 miles to go it is rater frustrating to begin over and over!
what is the cure for this fault?
