Sure and why does the service not just say collision is not covered and they should contact vehicle insurance for towing? Or offer the service (outside of contract) at an additional charge?

In your own words, "assuming it is true". Do you personally know the OP? How can you make that assumption? I do not make that assumption particularly since the OP is upset and might stretch a bit to make their case.
GS ERS has a lot of failures but I don't think this is one of them.
I have purchased ERS other than GS, or any of the other ones normally mentioned on RV.net.
